Find Health Reform Information from Congress' Bills and Summaries                                                              Bookmark and Share

Here are a variety of ways to make it easier to find and read the information we need from valid sources.

I made these pages after realizing that many people may not be aware of where to find health reform bills and documents, not searching in and reading them, and relying on others to interpret them. And a survey of health professionals indicated that some had not looked at the bills very much. A useful finding was about the minimum amount of studying was that health professionals who feel they are good resources* on health reform spent an average of 5 hours reviewing and searching for information in the bill HR 3200.

Objective Summaries from Congress' own Congressional Research Service (1 1/2 page text / 9-minute audio, and 6 page text / 13-minute audio)

Guide to Easier Reading of HR 3200 and Understanding Health Reform - 2 Ways to Dig into HR 3200. This page lets you see major and minor sections and a summary. Open pdf files, point, click and go to actual text and details which you're interested. Use an organization chart or summary of HR 3200.

Summaries, Original Bills and Cost/Budget Studies - 1 1/2-, 6-, and 24-page summaries, actual bills; benefits to districts, bill markups, cost analyses by Congress and government offices.
