Recommendations to Enhance Action Model for Achieving Healthy People 2020 Overarching Goals and Adapting to an Action Model for Healthy Campus 2020

I believe these
suggestions make the model action oriented with planning steps and many
population segments (i.e., 75 million students). Rationale and
references for Healthy People 2020 and Healthy Campus 2020

PRIMARY RECOMMENDATIONS: 1. Consider the Action Model a planning model that includes action steps as in the PRECEDE-PROCEED model and social marketing approach (Theory at a Glance, p 36). 2. Provide users with “action” steps with action oriented words for program development. These include: learn about target audience needs and environment, describe health problem and program strategy, interventions, plan to monitor and evaluate, implement, disseminate, assess effectiveness, refine program.
